Whenever you change the wax in your warmer, you should wipe the dish with a paper towel until it is smooth, shiny, and like new. Doing so will ensure that the next time you need to remove the wax it will release easily. But what do you do when there is a residue left in the warmer dish that you cannot wipe out?

Plugin warmer with residue in the dish |
This has only happened to me a couple of times, and it is a concern because it makes it more difficult for me to remove subsequent wax from the warmer--especially if it is a plugin warmer that I use a Grab Tab to remove the wax.
The remedy for this problem is simple enough. Remove the cooled piece (i.e., the warmer dish or the plugin top) and hand wash it with dish soap. I use a non-scratch scouring sponge to scrub the residue away. When you are finished, be sure to let the piece dry before placing it back on your warmer.
Good as new!
